Rosemary Napper TSTA O E C Ecologist Brian Walker developed a definition and theory of resilience which goes far beyond the common-place ideas of ‘bounce-back’ to transformative change – and through his work in the English speaking parts of the world, realised that it is applicable not only to the natural world, but also to societies and to individuals. Looking at his ideas with a TA lens provides exciting ways to think about the process of reslience for individuals, groups and organisations, and the experience of COVID provides rich material to consider in this workshop real examples of resilience using this framework.
