Professor
Windy Dryden
I am an Emeritus Professor of Psychotherapeutic Studies at Goldsmiths University of London and have been working in the field of counselling and psychotherapy since 1975.
I was one of the first people in Britain to be trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and have trained with Drs. Albert Ellis, Aaron T. Beck and Arnold Lazarus. I have also trained at the University of Warwick where I was awarded an MSc in Psychotherapy. This was an eclectic course and gave me a very broad view of the field.
What has been important and sustaining in my career has been variety. Thus, I work as a practitioner, trainer, academic and writer/editor.
Testimonials: Live Attendees

I had to pinch myself knowing I was in the presence of a wonderful therapist whom I cited so much through my academic journey - what a privilege to be a part of this event.

Seeing Windy Dryden work with the attendees that volunteered for a SST on the workshop was wonderful. It is always reassuring and refreshing to see someone else work. You feel at home, and knowing how others work is always great to see.

I really enjoyed this event, it has been well moderated and balanced and in just a couple of hours I believe it has given me a proper sense of Single Session Therapy.

Great session - amazing to see what can be done in a short space of time by using some key questions/reflections felt I learned a lot in a short space of time, thank you.

An insightful, informative and humbling (due to the honesty of those taking part) training session. Very powerful.

An excellent event that will inform my practice. I'll definitely attend future events. An excellent event that will inform my practice. I'll definitely attend future events.
