ONLINE LEARNING FOR COUNSELLORS & PSYCHOTHERAPISTS

WORKSHOP RECORDING DETAILS

"Learn your theories as well as you can, but put them aside when you touch the miracle of the loving soul." C. G. Jung

Psychosis can both scares and captivate us, producing an oscillation between repulsion and enmeshment in most clinicians. Its boundless quality can poke the heart of our innermost processes, begging both understanding and isolation. Is there a way in? Is there a way out? Facing extreme versions of humanhood can trigger anguish and invites the clinician to question the fabric of their own reality.

This 2-hour workshop lays the foundation to begin exploring the nature of Psychosis by providing a theoretical framework of understanding. This is a huge subject and my aim in these two hours is to spark reflection more than to provide concrete answers. The participants will be introduced to the concept of a psychotic spectrum seen both from psychiatric and non-psychiatric angles. A follow on workshop will be offered if there is interest.
