The Power of Anger: Becoming Potent for both Client and Therapist Workshop with Nathan Gould
Anger is one of our most common emotions yet many therapists have sense of unease or trepidation when faced with an angry client.
Anger is one of our most common emotions yet many therapists have sense of unease or trepidation when faced with an angry client. In this workshop we will explore what lies underneath many of the common presentations of anger in the therapy room and discuss some of the necessary tasks in formulating a treatment plan.
Nathan will also present his thinking on the good guy / angry guy cycle which synthesizes some core TA concepts into a new model of angry behaviour. (And yes, this apples to women too!)
We will also consider what a positive expression of anger of anger looks like using a simple model that links modes of communication to the TA concept of life positions.
The workshop will contain a mixture of teaching and group discussion and Nathan will share some case vignettes from his extensive work with anger management.

Read MoreA very good summary of anger and how to manage this emotion. This workshop was a fantastic workshop. I loved the way Nathan Gould presented his material and the case study was very useful. There is of course the time limit of how much can you present in one hour and 30 minutes, but Nathan also provided some good book recommendations. The good guy/bad guy theory was very useful in preparing you to work with a client that has anger issues or support you in your personal development. Do invite Nathan on another workshop as well! He was great! :)
