ONLINE LEARNING FOR COUNSELLORS & PSYCHOTHERAPISTS

WORKSHOP RECORDING DETAILS

This is the first of a two-part workshop exploring divorce and relationship breakdown from a relational perspective, with an emphasis on how psychotherapy can help through this painful and often devastating process.

In this first workshop we will be examining the development of a couple’s relationship and the psychological causes of relationship breakdown. We will briefly explore the effects of divorce from the perspective of the person choosing to leave the relationship, as well as when there is a mutually agreed relationship breakdown.

This workshop will have an integrative relational perspective with a focus on Transactional Analysis, although prior knowledge of TA is not essential. Using client examples, we will explore the importance of the therapeutic relationship for those going through divorce; we will examine how using this relationship can offer the potential for significant intrapsychic and interpersonal change through this traumatic and transformative period in our clients’ lives.

This is the first of a 2-part workshop, and the second instalment (on November 9th) builds on the first, however both parts, although integrated, can be attended as a stand-alone workshop.
