Shame appears to be endemic in the field of psychotherapy. Whether it manifests itself in the supervisory relationship (I can't believe I did that, and now I have to tell my supervisor!) or in the therapeutic relationship (I can't bear to tell my therapist this!). Many models of shame appear to be quite procedural and concrete.
