Carol Wolter-Gustafson

Carol Wolter-Gustafson received her doctorate from Boston University’s Department of Humanistic and Behavioral studies. As a graduate student, she first met Carl Rogers at a nine-day, residential workshop in New York. She taught philosophical, psychological, and counseling courses for twenty-five years at Lesley University’s Graduate School of Education and has been a Visiting Professor at the Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico) on gender and women’s lived-experience of wholeness. Her interest in learning in large, international, person-centered groups, led her to facilitate them in the United States, Europe, the UK., Brazil, Russia, and Japan. Her writing has been focused on cultivating person-centered pathways out of the “us-versus-them” thinking and rhetoric about race, gender, power, etc. that fuel violence locally, nationally, and globally. She is currently co-facilitating Going Global Workshops to explore our personal connections to local and global issue, and maintains a client-centered psychotherapy practice in Boston (USA).
