EVENT DETAILS

The event was recorded LIVE

Quietly, supervision has become like management, a profession in its own right. The lyrics of this particular version of the siren song of professionalism have focused in large part on the division between "expert knowledge" and "personal knowing". This has framed the difficult experiences of therapists as deficits and attempted to contain emotional and personal expression in supervision in order to surgically define a "clean" separation between supervision and therapy.

While person-centered approaches to supervision have tried to step aside from this fragmented treatment of supervisor, therapist and client, they remain widely criticized and under threat from current legal and ethical guidelines of practice.
